NASCAR MODIFIED POWER RANKINGS AFTER MAY 6

1st Doug Manmiller, No. 14
Last week: 1st
The 14 team continues to be consistent with their finishes. Not as strong as previous weeks but it was enough to vault Manmiller to the top of the point standings. Should the 14 car start further up front anytime soon you'll see them in victory lane, no doubt.

2nd Meme DeSantis, No. 357
Last week: 4th (+2)
Next to Doug Manmiller he has the highest-rated average finish with a 7.8 for the season. DeSantis came from his 24th starting spot in the feature to finish a solid 9th. Meme has not finished outside the top ten all season and has proven that he will be in the hunt for the championship in his Ford-powered Bicknell race car.

3rd Danny Erb, No. 44
Last week: 2nd (-1)
Take the good with the bad. In the first three weeks Danny and the T&S Motorsports team finished no worse than 8th, but Danny had to qualify through the consolation and start deep in the field, 25th to be exact. During a caution period Danny felt a flat tire in the right front and had to go pitside, with the green coming out the following lap, relegating Danny to the 29th place finish. Danny will bounce back. This is a strong car that should not be taken lightly.

4th Craig Von Dohren, No. 1C
Last week: 3rd (-1)
It has to be one of the most disappointing starts to the season that Craig has had in quite awhile after the high expectations going into 2006. Though he has an average finish of 10th, he has just not found a way to the front with the BPG team so far. Let it be known that Craig has run well, but this past weekend it was not a good night for him. It can only make Craig and Chad Sinon want to win that much more.

5th Jon Kellner, No. 85AM
Last week: 5th
A real nice run for the Cary Duncan team with a 13th place finish from their 30th starting spot. Jon definitely earned his share of the prize this weekend. So far Kellner has managed to finish races and run up front, something they have been lacking the last couple of seasons. To finish first you first have to finish. And this team is doing just that.

6th Terry Meitzler, No. 712
Last week: 8th (+2)
It has not been the most consistent year so far for the Schaeffer team, but Terry has put together some good runs in recent weeks. Two top ten finishes in the last three starts. The 712 team needs to find more consistency to contend for the win, but a 5th place finish on Saturday night was a good start.

7th Mike Gular, No. 53
Last week: 7th
Mike and the No. 53 group have struggled the last couple of weeks, missing one show and qualifying through the consolation again this week. But after starting 27th in the 31-car field and coming home 12th is a great finish for this team, a much needed boost of energy. We know Gular is going to win this season, the question is when?

8th Ryan Watt, No. 14W
Last week: NR
Quietly, but surely, Ryan Watt has crept into 7th in the point standings in his BPG Racing entry. After a dismal 23rd place start to the season, Ryan has improved each week after that with finishes of 19th, 11th and now a 6th on Saturday. Just a little more "umph" and Ryan will be leading the feature at the checkered flag. Bank on it.

9th Greg Humlhanz, No. 02
Last week: 9th
Greg has started all four features this season. Greg may not have the finishes to show that he is a top contending team, but being able to start each show is proving that they are headed in the right direction. Greg used his provisional last week, but is sitting in the top ten in points, which is a much improved effort versus the beginning of last season. This team's on the rise, and Greg just might bust through for a win this year.

10th Kevin Hirthler, No. 117
Last week: 10th
Started shotgun on the field (31st) and worked his way through to finish 16th. Not a jaw-dropping effort, but Kevin has been a much-improved race car driver since his return to Grandview. Make no mistake about it, the Hirthler team is one of the top five cars at Grandview when it comes to quickness and reliability. Never count them out.
